COMMUNIONS
2011

Communions is a series of ephemeris pages on which are inscribed proposals for actions to be carried out. The “we” of these proposals includes the viewer in a constituted but undefined group.
Communions was created for the exhibition La ronde (The Round), at La Ferme du buisson, Noisiel, curated by Émilie Renard.
“Those who form a round draw a circle in space. The round is both a simple geometric figure and a temporary link between people. It integrates those who make it up, while at the same time excluding those who look on. These forces of attraction as much as repulsion outline a variety of possible relationships between the individual and a constituted group, between a desire to integrate and a feeling of exteriority. These dual aspects of the round – figure and link, attraction and repulsion – allow both an aesthetic and ethical approach to different relationships between self and others. The round is a motif for the exhibition and determines its modality.” (Excerpt from the press release for the exhibition La ronde, Émilie Renard).
