Making rules to move forward without knowing where they will lead. For an exhibition showing double monitors films, to be held at Galerie Allen in March 2022, Boris Achour suggested to Maki Suzuki a month beforehand that they begin a daily video tennis game lasting ten days or so. The artists sent each other short video sequences, each echoing the previous one in a very free adaptation of the principle of the game ‘Marabout – Bout d’ficelle – Selle de cheval…’. This game of friendship, collage, montage and visual attention is a permanent game, intended to be continued with the same person or with other friends. Unlike the type of presentation in the gallery, where the sequences were displayed on two scxreens, the version shown here is a single-screen version.
